Foundation FAQ

The following section lists questions that prospective grantees most frequently ask about grant awards at Kingdom Charitable Trust.

Is my organization eligible to apply for a grant?

The foundation (KCT) only makes “qualifying distributions” to public charities exempt under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and which fall within the scope of our areas of interests.

What nonprofit organizations do you work with?

We work with a broad range of public charities, but preference will be given to organizations whose operating budget is between one and five million dollars. More importantly, the organization must meet our grant requirements to qualify fully.

How do I apply for a grant through the foundation?

We generally do not accept unsolicited grant proposals; however, if you believe your program falls within the scope of our areas of interest, please submit a letter of inquiry by clicking here, so that that we may learn more about your organization’s current needs.

Do you support individuals?

KCT is unable to make grants directly to individuals.

Is there a dollar amount limitation per proposal?

There is no limit, but we typically encourage our grantees to familiarize themselves with KCT's past giving history.

When is the deadline to apply for grants?

Requests for proposals are considered twice annually. The deadline for grant submissions is June 30th and on or before October 1st.

I submitted an application. What happens next?

Upon receipt of your application, we will review your proposal to determine its merits for eligibility. In addition, a representative may reach out to you for further information, such as scheduling a site visit, requesting additional documents that would support your grant application, and meeting with program staff and board members.

When will I know if my proposal has been accepted?

You will be notified by letter or email in July or November about whether your proposal has been granted, declined, or deferred.

How long does it take to receive funds?

We strive to award funds within eight weeks upon approval of your grant proposal.

How can I contact Kinny Madori directly?

Although Kinny retains oversight of KCT, he has delegated the day-to-day management to the foundation’s director.
