Global Medical Outreach: Bridging the Gap Amid Declining Support
In too many parts of the world, a minor illness can become a death sentence- simply because quality healthcare is out of reach. For decades, international aid programs, such as those run by USAID, helped bridge this divide, funding critical health infrastructure, training local providers, and delivering emergency response in vulnerable regions - but that safety net is now unraveling. As the U.S. continues to scale back its global health commitments, countless communities are left with fewer options, fewer supplies, and even fewer trained professionals to respond to urgent medical needs.
According to a 2023 study published in The Lancet, if U.S. global health funding continues to decline at its current pace, we could

see more than 14 million preventable deaths globally by 2030- including over 4.5 million children under the age of five. These numbers are not abstract. They represent real lives- women without prenatal care, children without antibiotics, and elders managing chronic illnesses without treatment.
At Kingdom Charitable Trust, we believe that healthcare is not a privilege reserved for the few- it is a fundamental human right. That is why Global Medical Outreach is one of our core focus areas. In a time of shrinking government investment, we are committed to supporting nonprofit organizations that deliver direct medical care, train local professionals, and strengthen healthcare systems where they are needed most.
Partner Spotlight: Americares, Armenian EyeCare Project, & Open Hearts for Orphans
One of the partners advancing this mission is Americares, a global health and humanitarian organization providing medical aid and emergency relief in more than 85 countries each year. Through its Worldwide Disaster Fund, Americares responds to more than 30 crises annually- from hurricanes and earthquakes to refugee emergencies, delivering essential medicines and medical care within just 72 hours of disaster onset.

Their work extends far beyond immediate relief. Americares helps communities prepare before disasters strike, supports frontline health workers who are often both caregivers and survivors, and stays engaged through the recovery and rebuilding process. The organization’s approach

strengthens local health systems rather than replacing them, ensuring lasting impact and resilience.
At Kingdom Charitable Trust, we are honored to help sustain these efforts- bringing critical health resources, mental health support, and hope to communities around the world when they need it most. While emergency response is critical, sustainable change also comes from strengthening healthcare systems at the local level. That is why Kingdom Charitable Trust proudly supports the Armenian EyeCare Project (AECP), an organization dedicated to eliminating preventable blindness and improving access to vision care across Armenia.

Through its new initiative in Berd, Tavush Region, AECP is equipping local clinics with modern ophthalmologic equipment, training medical professionals, and providing community education on eye health and disease prevention. This project directly serves more than 31,000 residents, many of whom previously had to travel long distances to receive even basic eye care.

By empowering local healthcare providers with advanced diagnostic tools and continuous training, AECP is ensuring that early detection and treatment of vision-threatening conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy- are now possible close to home. Their work not only restores sight but strengthens entire communities, offering hope and independence to thousands.
At Kingdom Charitable Trust, we’re inspired by AECP’s commitment to equity and innovation, and we’re proud to play a part in helping Armenia move one step closer to a future where no one is left in the dark.
As we continue supporting medical outreach across the globe, we are honored to partner with organizations bringing healing and dignity to vulnerable children. Open Hearts for Orphans does just that through its Josiah’s Hope Project in Uganda.

The initiative is revitalizing the pediatric ward at St. Joseph Kitovu Hospital, creating a clean, welcoming space where children can receive safe and compassionate care. Renovations include new pediatric beds, upgraded facilities, and essential medical supplies. Once complete, the ward will serve more than 1,200 children each year, providing access to quality treatment that many families previously could not reach.
Beyond infrastructure, Open Hearts for Orphans is investing in long-term healing through caregiver education, nutrition programs, and staff training-ensuring better outcomes for children and their families for years to come.
At Kingdom Charitable Trust, we are proud to support this work and share in its mission to bring light, love, and lasting change to communities where hope is needed most.
Global medical outreach is not just about responding to need - it is about reimagining what is possible when compassion meets action. Through the dedication of our partners and the commitment of Kingdom Charitable Trust, lives are being changed, systems are being rebuilt, and hope is being restored in places once forgotten. Change begins with awareness - and grows through action.
